Call for Tutorials

The 2027 IEEE International Conference on Big Data and Smart Computing (IEEE BigComp 2027) will be held on January 25–28, 2027 at Fukuoka International Congress Center, Fukuoka, Japan. Since 2014, BigComp has provided an international forum for exchanging ideas and information on current studies, challenges, research results, system developments, and practical experiences in Big Data and Smart Computing.

IEEE BigComp 2027 invites proposals for tutorials that offer lecture-style short courses on state-of-the-art research, emerging technologies, industrial developments, applications, and practical tools in Big Data and Smart Computing. Tutorials should help participants understand important foundations, recent advances, and practical methods, and should be designed for an audience that may include researchers, developers, practitioners, students, and users from academia, business, and industry.

Each tutorial may be either 1.5 hours or 3 hours in length. Proposals should clearly explain the value of the tutorial to the BigComp community and should provide enough detail for reviewers to assess the topic, structure, audience, and presenters.

Tutorial Proposal Preparation

Tutorial proposals should include the following information:

  1. The title and abstract of the tutorial.
  2. The topic of the tutorial. Proposals must clearly identify the general topic of the tutorial, the potential target audience, and the background knowledge expected of the audience.
  3. A detailed outline of the tutorial. Proposals should describe the scope of the material to be covered, the depth of coverage, and the most important references to be covered in the tutorial.
  4. The preferred tutorial length. Proposals should indicate their preference between 1.5 hours and 3 hours.
  5. A brief resume of each presenter, including name and affiliation, email address, short biography, background in the tutorial area, and previous tutorials by the presenter, if any.
